I'm really sorry, if it's in the wrong section.

But i need help from the members here that have knowledge about compression and indicating of true lossless source.

I'm arguing with people about this track. Please tell me, is this from a lossless source or not. It's an 80's live recording, direct rip from cd. But my opinion is, that the cd is mastered from lossy source.

Link to the song: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=EGXN3F25

I'm very thankful if someone can help me clearing this.

And what makes you believe that it's a transcode? It would be better if you posted closeups of the suspicious places.
I'm not really good at it, but it seems fine to me.
BTW what's between 3:42 and 3:55 (and shortly before too)?

I usually check the audio files with Audiochecker located here

Here is the Audiochecker log for that one file you uploaded

@mineagle

Thx, but of course i checked with audiochecke already. But these tool are not trustworty. They indicate one song from same cd as 95%mpg and the rest 100% cdq.
I checked the whole cd and the result is 100% cdq, but i doubt it is.
@nbn

I doubt is true lossless source, cause above that line at 16hz to me it's just hiss noise, nothing more.
And in the begining of the song are vhs noises.
And between 3:40-3:50 are drumms instr.

This is lossless without a doubt.

jimT
Ok, thank you.

and that line at 16hz it's not showing that above 16hz is added noise to fill the rest between 16hz and 22hz.

Cause to me under the 16hz line is from ac3 source track fro the dvd. And the vhs noises in the begining.

Well, I shouldn't have said "without doubt" as you can only be sure if you ripped the files yourself.
It might be a good fake but would anyone go through so much trouble? Maybe, but not likely.

Well, that cd is sold on amazon and other online shops. And it's not from the official record companny of the artist. There were boolegs before that, which are identical to this. So for this I think they would go through so much trouble, to make it sound legit as possible.

And I compare it to the 256kbps ac3 track from the dvd i have (not official release, cause that concert never had official relese on dvd or cd). It's the same spectral:
LaughingMan
Hm, ok that makes it more likely but still: Which CD producer expects his customers to take such a good look at his CD? And does he expect his sales to depend on this?

I am no CD producer so I can't tell but my feeling says "none".
jimT
Yes, you're right about that.

It's just that this concert had many bootlegs. Some from good source, some from bad.
And we the fans are looking for the best possible and lossless source. The others say it's true cd quality. I'm saying and pointing why not.

I would have to give up.
But thank you for your time.
