Howdy!

This is my first post http://flacshare.net/The-Hollies-The-Long-...Home-t2704.html , but what's the deal with the code tags?

I tried a few different ways but it's not working out well.

I post a quite a few places but this is the first time Code tags have given me a problem.

Any advice?

Thanks!
Peri
Turn off 'rich text editing' and go with standard. My first few posts were all over the place till i turned it off.

Dont put html in any of your posts, its not allowed

CODE tags are not made/used to make html work either, if that's what you were thinking/

You're trying to use <BR> for line break, that's HTML 4.01; we support only IPB BBCode (click "BB Code Help" on the editing page - bottom-right of the editor). Simply use the return key for newlines like you are in your normal posts :)

I had a similar problem with my first couple of posts here. I would put my RS links between the code tags and when I'd preview the post the links would somehow have url tags and html tags attached to them. It was actually doubling my links. I also contribute on other forums and am familiar with the code tags but had a heck of a time here. It actually became such a problem for me that I'd have to preview my post and manually remove each url tag.

Again .. the url tags were not added or typed by myself .. they just magically appeared each time I previewed a post.

My solution has been to preview a post and manually remove the added tags. This process usually takes 3 or 4 previews before the url and html tags are removed for good.

Except for that quirk .. this is by far the best music sharing community I've encountered. And I'm even a MOD on a highly visable forum .. lol. Keep up the great work!!

Hmm, this problem might be easily demonstrable if an example input (e.g. your URLs which aren't coming out properly) is put on something like http://az1234.pastebin.com, then mods/admins can test it out themselves, trying to reproduce your original problem. With this example data, we'll be able to hunt down the problem and resolve it much quicker smile.gif

If you do, please be sure to link to it here smile.gif

Ok .. I created a Post using the same copy and paste notepad file that I've used on other forums. As you can see .. the posted links are clickable which I never post. I tried to upload and attach the .txt file here but it kept saying I'm not authorized to upload those file types. I did the next best thing tho and took a screenshot of the .txt file which I've included below.

Next best thing would've been to paste it to http://az1234.pastebin.com as advised in my previous post, as we could copy your code verbatim

I've tried copying the [code] segment as on your screenshot but cannot reproduce the problem
