Growing Pains is the Grammy Award-nominated eighth studio album by American R&B/soul singer Mary J. Blige. The album was released on December 18, 2007 by Geffen Records. Growing Pains was ranked #29 on Rolling Stone's list of the Top 50 Albums of 2007. This title of the album was inspired by the ABC series of the same name.

Despite the lack of promotion, and the fact that the only official single to chart inside the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart was "Just Fine", Growing Pains has been certified 2x Platinum by RIAA and Gold by the BPI. "Work That" was officially released to radio and managed to peak inside the top 20 of the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and number 65 in the Billboard Hot 100. The second official single "Stay Down" became a moderate hit in the R&B charts reaching the top 40.

In 2007, At the 50th Grammy Awards, "Just Fine" was nominated in the 'Best Female R&B Vocal Performance' category, losing the award to Alicia Keys' No One. Mary is also currently nominated for two other Grammy Awards, one for Best Contemporary R&B Album (Growing Pains) and Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical (Just Fine) at the 51st Grammy Awards to be held on CBS on February 8, 2009. This earning Mary J. Blige her 28th Grammy Award nomination.
